About History

THE DAY BEFORE YOU CAME was the first drama to be produced under the Showboat TV brand, instead of VideoMajic and features many of the performers and singers who came to the studio originally through the Welsh Factor talent competition. The film was a retelling of "A Christmas Carol" but was told entirely through music with the song lyrics replacing all dialogue. Following a long filming schedule through the summer of 2019, the film was eventually shown to the cast and crew on 23rd November 2019 at the CrossHands Cinema, followed by an aftershow party at the Gremlin Club in Carmarthen, which was also the home to an open mic night attended by most of the cast.

Earlier dramas had been produced and directed by VideoMajic, a non-profit making community project with all revenue being used to make the next production. During the 9 year run, they produced 10 full length feature films and 1 short film. The final budget was spend on a party for the cast, and a light hearted awards night for the moments which many of the crew were hoping to forget
