About History
As well as being a visitor attraction the National Botanic Garden is a centre for botanical research and conservation and the Butterfly House underpins the scientific research work it does with bees, pollen, honey, hoverflies, moths and other pollinators. The Butterfly House - also known as Plas Pilipala - is in the historic double walled garden, which used to be the tropical house, and forms a key part of the garden's mission of Saving Pollinators.
